Ghana football prepares for 2026/27 season launches

The 2026/27 Ghana Premier League season features a diverse group of captains across its 18 clubs, blending veteran leadership with emerging talent. Notable appointments include 17-year-old Alidu Labaran Majeed as the league's youngest captain for Vision FC, and goalkeeper Benjamin Asare for Hearts of Oak. Other leaders include Lord Amoah for Asante Kotoko, Augustine Okrah for Bechem United, and Gideon Anaba for Gold Stars.

In addition to the professional league, the 2026/27 Colts Football Season is scheduled to launch on September 15, 2026, at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The event will involve stakeholders from the Football Association and Regional Football Associations, marking the fifth consecutive year of the official launch for this juvenile football program designed to develop young talent in Ghana.
