In Ghana, the Football Association (GFA) is finalizing preparations for its 2026/27 season, scheduled to begin on September 4. GFA President Kurt Okraku detailed a GH¢9.5 million incentive package for the Premier League, featuring GH¢3 million for champions and GH¢1 million for runners-up. All 18 Premier League clubs will receive an upfront payment of GH¢1 million for operational costs and squad building. Support also extends to the Division One League and Women’s Premier League, with over GH¢16 million committed to these tiers.

As the season approaches, Ghanaian clubs are intensifying transfer activity. Asante Kotoko has undertaken a significant recruitment drive, signing six players including Moroccan goalkeeper Abdel Wadie Mourad, Ivorian defender Koffi Marius Ange Bini, and the return of veteran midfielder Richard Boadu and goalkeeper Ibrahim Danlad. Medeama SC has also strengthened its roster with signings such as Etse Dogli, Emmanuel Boateng, and winger Emmanuel Fobi. Other clubs, including Hearts of Oak and Gold Stars, are also making moves to bolster their squads. Additionally, the 2026 MTN Elite U-19 Boys Championship is set to begin at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence.
