Ghana High Court narrows charges against former NAFCO chief Hana Abdul-Wahab

He likened the prosecution’s approach to “blindfolding a boxer, tying his hands behind his back and expecting him to fight in the ring.” After the ruling, Dame said, “Even though they’ve been ordered to amend some of the charges, we’ll still file an appeal.” The court’s decision keeps the fraud case active while narrowing the scope of the charges.

The proceedings focus on transactions spanning February 2017 to February 2025, with the prosecution accused of combining multiple payments into single counts without specifying dates, amounts or links. The case highlights concerns over transparency and accountability in Ghana’s state‑run food supply system.
