Ghana leaders urge strategic adoption of artificial intelligence

Leaders in Ghana are calling for a strategic and cautious approach to the adoption of artificial intelligence (AI) across various sectors.

Moses Baiden, CEO of Margins ID Group, emphasized that the legal profession must prepare for significant technological shifts in judicial administration and legal practice. He noted that while AI can assist with research, document review, and contract analysis, it cannot replace professional responsibility or ethical judgment. Baiden advised lawyers to treat AI as a fast assistant that requires constant supervision and verification, stating that the central challenge will shift from finding answers to verifying their reliability.

Meanwhile, Ernest Brogya Genfi, Presidential Adviser on National Resilience and Emergency Preparedness, urged the nation to ensure its AI journey is driven by local social, economic, and cultural realities rather than global trends alone. Speaking at the 2nd Applied Research Conference of Accra Technical University, Genfi stressed the importance of translating academic research into practical products and policies that solve pressing national problems and improve public services.
