Overview

In late July 2026, analysts highlighted that AI‑related investment and semiconductor imports were bolstering Ghana’s gross domestic product. At the Ghana AI Summit, Deloitte Ghana’s Roland Baah Teye stressed AI’s role in reducing inefficiencies and creating new revenue streams, while warning that automation would shift labour demand toward data analysis and cybersecurity. In late September, Minister for Youth Development George Opare Addo announced initiatives to connect Ghanaian youth to pan-African job markets using digital tools like the National Youth Tracker Platform. This period also saw the launch of the China-Ghana Youth AI Talent Development Programme, providing scholarships and internships to build technical expertise.
