Ghana ministers emphasize accountability and extended sanitation clean‑up

Northern Regional Minister Ali Adolf John Mburidiba told participants at the Savelugu Municipal Assembly that transparency, prudent financial management and citizen participation are essential for good governance and sustainable development. He highlighted the "Accounting to the People" series, which will be rolled out across assemblies to showcase work, involve stakeholders and strengthen public confidence.

Minister for Local Government, Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs Ahmed Ibrahim visited sanitation teams and urged Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies and workers to keep the nationwide clean‑up going beyond the originally announced two‑day period, extending it to at least Saturday, July 18. He linked improved sanitation to disease prevention as Ghana approaches its 70th anniversary and praised the continued effort of workers and officials.

Both initiatives reflect the Ghanaian government's focus on enhancing local governance, accountability and public health through active citizen engagement and extended environmental actions.
