Ghana National Sports Authority forms committee to reform sports financing

The National Sports Authority (NSA) of Ghana has inaugurated a five-member Resource Mobilisation and Partnership Committee to address funding challenges and modernize sports financing. Chaired by Samson Deen, President of the African Paralympic Committee, the committee is tasked with supporting the ‘Reset Ghana Sports Agenda’.

The committee aims to move beyond traditional emergency fundraising toward a structured system of strategic investment. Its mandate includes securing sustainable funding for 58 sports federations and associations, identifying logistical and equipment needs, and establishing local and international corporate partnerships.

Key objectives involve improving sporting infrastructure, such as reviewing the use of ungrassed pitches, and developing talent through initiatives like the proposed Constituency Games. Deen emphasized that the goal is to build a system that identifies, finances, and develops Ghanaian talent to reach international podiums.
