Ghana NPP leaders urge education donor action and pursue party reconciliation

Dr. Mathew Opoku Prempeh, former Ghana education minister and NPP running‑mate, addressed the 2026 International Education Funders Group convening in London, urging global donors to move beyond discussion and provide bold, accountable funding for education. He warned that philanthropy risks irrelevance without measurable results, stressing the need to tackle AI‑driven inequality, misinformation and fragmented digital spaces. Prempeh said, “Supporting education systems is important, but we must ensure those systems deliver.”

Meanwhile, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s 2028 presidential candidate, visited senior party figure Dr. Charles Wireko‑Brobbey as part of a reconciliation drive aimed at uniting the party ahead of the 2028 general elections.
