Ghana's New Patriotic Party Announces Candidates for Regional Chair and Youth Organiser Posts

Kwadwo Boateng‑Agyemang, a businessman and former campaign coordinator for the NPP, will submit his nomination on July 17 to run again for Eastern Regional Chairman. He previously contested the post in May 2022, losing to incumbent Jeff Konadu Addo, and has served in multiple party leadership roles, including New Juaben North Constituency Chairman.

In the Savannah Region, incumbent NPP Chairman Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana, known as Professor Kalamonia, declared his intention to seek a third term. He outlined a four‑point agenda—Unity of Purpose, Efficient Service, Empowerment and Victory—aimed at regaining lost parliamentary seats and delivering a strong vote for the party’s 2028 presidential candidate.

A coalition of Ashanti youth leaders selected nomination forms on behalf of former NUGS President Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel, who is contesting the Ashanti Regional Youth Organiser position. The delegation highlighted his experience leading TESCON at KNUST and NUGS as assets for energising the party’s youth wing ahead of the 2028 elections.

An additional aspirant in the Upper East Region pledged to strengthen the partnership between the party’s youth wing (TESCON) and the NPP if elected, underscoring the broader push to consolidate grassroots support across Ghana’s regions.
