Ghana officials commission new school infrastructure in multiple districts

Educational infrastructure is being expanded in Ghana through the commissioning of new school facilities in the Upper Denkyira West and Kwadaso districts.

In Upper Denkyira West, District Chief Executive Isaac Nsiah commissioned a new kindergarten block at Modaso Roman Catholic School. The facility includes classrooms with furniture, a restroom, an office, and a kitchen. Nsiah emphasized the government's goal to end the practice of children learning under trees and announced a proposed award scheme to encourage schools to maintain their infrastructure.

In Kwadaso, Member of Parliament Professor Kingsley Nyarko commissioned a six-unit classroom block at Nyankyerenease Methodist Basic School. Funded by the Ghana Education Trust Fund (GETFund), the project aims to reduce overcrowding. While the new building follows previous additions of an ICT centre and a kindergarten block, education officials noted that the school still faces a pressing need for additional desks.
