Ghana police seize drugs, pistol and cash in Ashanti region raid
On June 26, 2026, the Mankranso District Police Command carried out an intelligence‑led operation in Kunsu township, Ashanti Region, Ghana. Four men – Issaka Musah (22), Amankwah Emmanuel (25), Kwame Boateng (32) and Appiah Prince (23) – were arrested on suspicion of trafficking illegal narcotics.
Police recovered a locally manufactured pistol loaded with two BB rounds, large quantities of high‑dosage tramadol tablets, red capsules, dried leaves believed to be Indian hemp, and a white powder thought to be cocaine. They also seized GH₵5,647.40 in cash, which investigators suspect was proceeds from drug sales. The suspects remain in police custody and are expected to be formally charged once investigations are concluded. The raid is part of Ghana Police Service’s nationwide campaign to combat drug trafficking and related crime.
