Ghana Premier League clubs appoint new head coaches for 2026/27 season

Bibiani GoldStars have named Greek tactician Petros Koukouras as head coach ahead of the 2026/27 Ghana Premier League campaign, replacing Swiss coach Fritz Markus Schmid. Koukouras, 37, brings experience from East African clubs and national teams, including roles with Uganda’s Pacific Heroes FC, the South Sudan national team, SC Villa, and Kiyovu Sports in Rwanda, and holds a UEFA A licence.

Asante Kotoko have hired South African former international Eric Tinkler as their new head coach. Tinkler, a former Bafana Bafana captain, arrived after a résumé that includes leading Orlando Pirates to a CAF Champions League final and winning multiple domestic cups. He began his tenure with the club’s first training session and is tasked with building a side capable of winning domestic titles and returning to African club competitions in the 2026/27 season.
