Ghana prepares for 2026 BECE results release and school selection

The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) will publish the 2026 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) results on Wednesday, 15 July 2026. Candidates and parents can obtain a BECE Results Checker in advance by dialing *713*3998#; each checker can be used up to three times to access the official results at eresults.waecgh.org. WAEC warns against fraudsters offering result upgrades.

The Ghana Education Service (GES) announced that BECE candidates will begin selecting their preferred senior high schools and other second‑cycle institutions from Monday, 20 July 2026, with the selection period ending on Friday, 7 August 2026. To support the Computerised School Selection and Placement System (CSSPS), GES will conduct nationwide training for regional, metropolitan, municipal and district directors of education from 15 July to 28 July 2026. The training aims to ensure transparent placement, uniform interpretation of guidelines, and accurate guidance for candidates, parents and guardians.
