Ghana prepares for Traffitech-GH rollout and transport reforms

Ghana is preparing for the October 1, 2026, rollout of the Traffitech-GH project. The Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service recently conducted its final nationwide training session in Ho to prepare enforcement teams. The training covered automated road traffic offences, fines under Regulation 242, and the use of specialized equipment such as in-vehicle fixed cameras and handheld Lasercam4 speed cameras.

Separately, the Parliamentary Select Committee on Roads and Transport conducted an oversight tour of Metro Mass Transit Limited (MMT) and the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA). The Committee expressed satisfaction with recent reforms, including MMT’s new bus deployment and the DVLA’s modernization of vehicle registration services. Members emphasized the need for continued support for these agencies and highlighted the importance of collaboration between the DVLA and the new road tolling system to ensure accurate vehicle data management.
