Ghana signs bilateral trade and aviation pacts with Panama and Trinidad and Tobago

Ghana has entered into new diplomatic and economic agreements with both Panama and Trinidad and Tobago during the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

Ghana and Panama signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on bilateral political consultations. The agreement aims to deepen cooperation in maritime affairs, cocoa production, trade, and technical assistance within the extractive sector. The pact is intended to foster structured diplomatic relations and bolster South-South trade and industrial partnerships.

Separately, Ghana and Trinidad and Tobago signed an Air Services Agreement to strengthen air links between the Caribbean nation and Africa. During bilateral discussions, leaders also addressed topics including trade, investment, air transportation, and reparations. The agreement is expected to enhance connectivity between Trinidad and Tobago, Ghana, and the broader African continent.
