Ghana targets US$12bn in pipeline investments for industrial growth

The Ghanaian government is working to convert approximately US$12 billion in announced and pipeline investments into operational businesses, jobs, and increased production. This initiative follows the 2025 Annual Investment Report, which identified significant capital opportunities aimed at driving the nation's industrial transformation.

In 2025, Ghana recorded roughly US$2.6 billion in foreign direct investment, spanning over 250 new projects and existing company expansions. Minister for Trade, Agribusiness and Industry Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare emphasized that the focus must shift from merely attracting capital to ensuring investments expand productive capacity, strengthen value chains, and create opportunities for local enterprises.

Key priority sectors include agribusiness, with a specific focus on local processing to retain economic value through packaging, warehousing, and distribution. Other strategic areas targeted for industrial growth include textiles, garments, pharmaceuticals, and automotive manufacturing.
