Ghana to host major horticulture and garden expos in 2026

Ghana is preparing for two major horticultural events in September 2026 aimed at driving economic transformation and agricultural self-reliance.

The Ghana International Horticulture Expo is scheduled for September 3–5, 2026, at the Palms Convention Centre in Accra. Under the theme “From Soil to Sovereignty: Building Ghana’s Agricultural Self-Reliance,” the event seeks to connect farmers, investors, and international buyers to strengthen local production and value chains. Officials from the Ghana Export Promotion Authority (GEPA) noted that horticulture offers a significant pathway for export diversification and increased foreign exchange earnings.

Additionally, the 14th Ghana Garden and Flower Show will take place from September 12–21, 2026, at the Efua Sutherland Children's Park in Accra. Themed “Green Means Business, Beauty and More,” the show highlights the transition of horticulture from a decorative hobby to a serious economic sector capable of fostering job creation, climate resilience, and sustainable development.
