Ghana Tourism Authority leaders recognized for leadership and economic advocacy

Maame Efua Houadjeto, Chief Executive Officer of the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), has received the Africa Visionary Leadership Award at the 7th Africa Brain Bank Annual Summit in Accra. The award recognizes her contributions to Ghana’s economic, industrial, and tourism development. In her acceptance speech, Houadjeto dedicated the honor to the management and staff of the GTA, highlighting their collective efforts in promoting Ghana as a premier tourism destination.

Separately, Abeiku Santana, Deputy CEO of the GTA, has advocated for local entrepreneurship, stating he would choose to live in Ghana over the United States or United Kingdom even if offered a monthly salary of $100,000. Santana urged Ghanaians to view national challenges as opportunities for innovation and wealth creation rather than focusing solely on difficulties, noting that expatriates often identify these same gaps as investment opportunities.
