Ghana urged to integrate AI into mainstream education
The management board of the DigiMarkt Project has called for the integration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) into Ghana’s mainstream education curriculum. During the final conference of the two-year initiative held at the University of Skills Training and Entrepreneurial Development (USTED) in Kumasi, project coordinator Prof. Yarhands Dissou Arthur emphasized that AI should be treated as a fundamental literacy rather than an elective subject.
The DigiMarkt Project, which received a €394,185 grant co-funded by the European Union, aimed to enhance digital marketing and emerging technology competencies within Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) in Ghana. Prof. Arthur warned that the country risks being left behind in the global economy if it does not implement urgent educational reforms to equip students with AI and digital skills.
