Ghana Water Limited announces supply interruption in Western Accra

Ghana Water Limited (GWL) has announced a temporary water supply interruption in parts of Western Accra due to damage to a 500mm-diameter main transmission pipeline. The damage occurred during excavation works by AWERCO Construction Ltd for the construction of underground storm drains between Kaneshie First Light and Hansonic Junction.

The burst pipeline caused flooding in the excavation trench, preventing immediate access to the damaged section. GWL technical teams are currently dewatering the trench to facilitate repairs. Affected communities include Mallam, Darkuman, Kaneshie, Mataheko, Korle Bu, Mamprobi, Dansoman Township, and Chorkor.
