Ghanaian fashion icon Nana Akua Addo's husband faces abuse investigation

Harold Norman, husband of Ghanaian fashion personality Rosemond Akua Adobea, known as Nana Akua Addo, is expected to be arraigned in court following his discharge from the hospital. The legal proceedings follow a petition filed by Ms. Adobea on August 20, alleging physical, emotional, and economic abuse.

Mr. Norman was arrested on August 27 to assist with investigations and was subsequently granted police enquiry bail. His scheduled court appearance was postponed after his legal counsel informed authorities of his hospital admission. Investigators from the Domestic Violence and Victim Support Unit (DOVVSU) have visited the hospital to verify his status and intend to proceed with the arraignment immediately upon his discharge.

Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, visited Ms. Adobea and her family to offer support. The Ministry is collaborating with the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) to provide psychosocial and social welfare assistance to Ms. Adobea and her children to ensure their emotional wellbeing during the investigation.
