Ghanaian leaders linked to cocaine bust suspect in new photos

New photographs have surfaced appearing to link Musah Attah, a suspect in a €225 million cocaine bust in France, to Ghanaian political leaders. The images show Attah alongside former President John Dramani Mahama and Vice President Naana Jane Opoku-Agyemang at both official functions and social gatherings, including one instance of Attah cutting a cake with the Vice President.

These images contradict recent statements from the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC), which had denied that any suspect in the cocaine case had ties to the presidential security detail. NACOC Deputy Director-General Alexander Twum-Barimah previously stated that background checks on suspects in custody showed none held roles as presidential escorts.

The controversy has sparked political debate, with former NDC parliamentary candidate Alexander Ackuako accusing the New Patriotic Party (NPP) of politicizing the issue. Ackuako argued that the NPP lacks the moral authority to criticize the current government's handling of narcotics, citing past drug-related cases involving individuals linked to previous NPP administrations.
