Ghanaian Minister defends nationwide road inspections

Ghanaian Minister for Roads and Highways, Governs Kwame Agbodza, has denied allegations that the government’s nationwide road inspection exercise is a ‘witch-hunt’ against contractors.

Speaking during a visit to the Northern Region, Agbodza stated that the inspections are intended to assess project progress, identify logistical challenges, and ensure that contractors adhere to agreed timelines. He emphasized that regular monitoring is necessary to fulfill the government’s commitment to completing ongoing road projects.

While noting that many contractors are performing well, Agbodza assured those falling behind of government support to help them meet their targets and complete work on schedule.
