Their assigned work will be reduced from 50 kilometres to 25 kilometres each, with the remaining sections assigned to new contractors. The original firms face a two-month monitoring period; failure to show improvement could result in total contract termination. Following an inspection of an access road project in the Ashanti Region, the Minister announced that the government is considering referring two quantity surveyors to the Economic and Organised Crime Office (EOCO) for investigation. This follows allegations that certain surveyors are attempting to inflate compensation claims for properties affected by road construction. In response to these systemic challenges, the Ghana Institution of Surveyors (GhIS) and the Ministry of Roads and Highways have agreed to enhance collaboration to ensure compliance with the Land Act, 2020, and the 1992 Constitution.
