Ghana's NDC and NPP embroiled in constituency election disputes

NDC constituency chairman Nana Kofi Atokyi in Amenfi East said he will dismantle the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) influence after he retains his party chairmanship. He highlighted the near‑completion of a modern constituency party office with residential apartments for executives and pledged further development to make the NDC the dominant force in the area.

In Accra’s Ablekuma West, dissatisfied NPP members and polling‑station executives have lodged two petitions with the party’s National Executive Committee, alleging serious irregularities in the constituency’s electoral register. They claim elected members were removed and replaced without contest, and they urge the NEC to annul the disputed register, investigate the claims, and compile a new, transparent register ahead of the 2028 general elections.
