Ghana's New Patriotic Party prepares for constituency leadership elections
Akomaning Yeboah has filed his nomination to contest the Communications Officer post for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Abuakwa South constituency. The filing, made on 23 June 2026, follows his long‑standing involvement in grassroots party communications and previous election activities.
In the Akan constituency of the Oti Region, 24 party members have picked nomination forms for a range of executive positions, including chairman, vice‑chairmen, secretary, treasurer and youth organiser. Incumbent chairman Rabiu Awale is seeking re‑election unopposed. Nominations close on 24 June, and the constituency executives election is scheduled for 11‑12 July 2026. Party officials have urged candidates to campaign peacefully and to respect the outcome.
