Ghana's New Patriotic Party urges internal discipline as 2028 elections approach

Edmund Kyei, speaking to newly elected New Patriotic Party (NPP) polling station executives in the Asokwa constituency of Ashanti Region, urged the officials to work hard to secure a victory for the party in the 2028 national elections. He criticised the current National Democratic Congress (NDC) administration led by John Mahama and highlighted the party’s flag‑bearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, as the vehicle for Ghana’s development.

NPP communications member George Opoku Amponsah warned that Bono Regional Chairman Kwame Baffoe, known as Abronye DC, was making uncontrolled statements and seeking personal popularity at the expense of the party’s image. Amponsah said Abronye’s behaviour risked alienating floating voters and called for the chairman to be reined in, declaring “Enough is enough.”
