Ghana's NPP calls out opposition over Ofori-Atta case and rebukes member Kennedy Agyapong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) communications director Richard Ahiagbah said former party member and ex‑presidential hopeful Kennedy Agyapong violated the NPP constitution by publicly criticizing the party’s handling of the Afari Military Hospital project and by threatening to reveal alleged internal misconduct. Ahiagbah described the remarks as anti‑party conduct and urged that any disciplinary process follow the party’s established procedures, which could lead to sanctions up to expulsion.

Ahiagbah also accused the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC) of turning the legal case against former finance minister Ken Ofori‑Atta into a partisan issue, linking it to the NPP rather than treating it as a matter involving an individual. He argued that existing legal mechanisms, including extradition arrangements with the United States, should be used to pursue the case without political interference.
