Ghana's One Million Coders Programme reaches Jomoro constituency

The One Million Coders Programme has been introduced in the Jomoro constituency of Ghana's Western Region. Led by Member of Parliament Dorcas Affo Toffey, the initiative aims to equip local youth with digital and technology skills, including coding and digital literacy, to prepare them for the growing digital economy.

As a flagship national project under the Ministry of Communications, Digital Technology and Innovations, the programme seeks to train one million Ghanaians in ICT-related skills over a four-year period starting from its April 2025 launch. According to Minister Samuel Nartey George, as of September 2026, approximately 140,000 people have registered for the programme, with over 10,000 participants having completed courses. Training areas include cybersecurity, networking, data analytics, and data protection.
