Ghaziabad student commits suicide days before NEET exam, leaves video

A 22‑year‑old student, Jatin Kumar, from Pratap Vihar, sector‑9 in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was found dead in his room two days before the scheduled re‑NEET medical entrance exam on 21 June. He had hung himself using a rope tied to a ceiling fan. Police recovered a one‑minute video from his mobile phone in which he showed his study room, said he did not feel any pressure about the NEET exam and mentioned his father’s advice not to stress.

The victim was the only son of a government employee father and a homemaker mother; he also had a younger sister studying in intermediate. Authorities have taken the body for post‑mortem, seized the phone and are examining the video and other digital evidence. No motive has been established yet, and investigators say they will release further findings after completing the forensic analysis.
