Ghaziabad student dies by suicide days before NEET exam

A 22‑year‑old student, Jatin Kumar of Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, was found hanged from a ceiling fan on 20 June, two days before the national NEET entrance exam. Police recovered a brief video in which he said he felt a little sad but was not under exam‑related pressure and began a post‑mortem investigation, questioning family members and neighbours.

The incident follows a similar case in Delhi where a student identified as Renu reportedly hanged herself after the NEET exam was cancelled, raising concerns about the mental well‑being of exam aspirants amid ongoing controversies over the test and alleged paper leaks.
