Ghazipur police arrest wanted kidnapping suspect after encounter

Police in the Saidpur area of Ghazipur district, Uttar Pradesh, have arrested Sanjay Bind, also known as Bujharat Bind, following an encounter. Bind was a wanted criminal with a reward of 50,000 rupees placed on his head in connection with the kidnapping of minor girls.

According to police reports, the arrest occurred on the night of August 12 near Ahirauli village after an informant provided intelligence regarding the suspect's movement. During the attempt to intercept him, the suspect allegedly opened fire on the police team. In the ensuing retaliatory action, Bind sustained a gunshot wound to his leg and was subsequently taken to a hospital.

Authorities stated that Bind has 14 prior criminal cases registered against him, including charges related to theft, the Arms Act, and the NDPS Act. Officers recovered a .315 bore pistol, ammunition, two motorcycles, and cash from his possession.
