GHRD exhibition at UN highlights Asian minority rights

Global Human Rights Defence (GHRD) has launched an exhibition titled ‘The Struggle for Minority Rights in Asia’ at the Palais des Nations in Geneva. Held on the sidelines of the 63rd session of the United Nations Human Rights Council, the exhibition aims to bring international attention to underrepresented communities and alleged human rights violations.

The display features survivor testimonies, photographic documentation, and verified case studies. It highlights concerns such as systemic discrimination, enforced disappearances, restrictions on religious freedom, and exclusion from political and social life.

Specific groups featured in the exhibition include the Ahmadiyya, Christian, Sindhi, and Baloch communities in Pakistan; the Tamil community in Sri Lanka; various minority communities in Bangladesh; and the Uyghur and Falun Gong communities in China.
