Ministry of Home Affairs orders review of Decree 178 policy settlements
The Ministry of Home Affairs has issued a directive requesting ministries, agencies, and local authorities to conduct a comprehensive review of policy settlements for individuals who resigned or were dismissed under Decree 178/2024/ND-CP (as amended by Decree 67/2025/ND-CP).
This action follows instructions from Deputy Prime Minister Pham Thi Thanh Tra regarding audit results from the State Audit Office. The audit identified issues concerning the implementation of policies and regimes for cadres, civil servants, and employees during the restructuring of the political system's organizational apparatus.
Authorities are required to ensure that all policy settlements comply with the correct subjects, procedures, and legal sequences. Agencies must clarify the responsibilities of specific organizations involved in determining eligibility and following proper protocols. If errors are discovered during the review or inspection process, entities must report them and implement timely corrective measures. Reports are expected to be submitted to the Ministry of Home Affairs by September 15, 2026, for subsequent reporting to the Prime Minister.
