Gia Lai launches Summer Tourism Festival attracting thousands
The opening ceremony of the 2026 Gia Lai Summer Tourism Festival was held on June 20 in Quy Nhon Ward, Gia Lai Province, central Vietnam, drawing thousands of visitors to Nguyen Tat Thanh Square. Provincial vice‑chairwoman Nguyen Thi Thanh Lich highlighted the province’s unique combination of mountainous forests and a long coastline, calling the event a new tourism space where nature, culture and people converge.
Provincial tourism figures show nearly seven million visitors in the first five months of 2026, a 16.5 % year‑on‑year rise that generated VND 15.2 trillion (about US$576 million) in revenue, up 19 %. Quy Nhon was honoured for the third time as an ASEAN Clean Tourism City, underscoring Gia Lai’s growing regional tourism profile.
