Gia Lai authorities seize nearly one ton of unsafe pork and chicken

The Gia Lai provincial Market Management Authority, together with the Economic Police, inspected two food‑business premises in the Diên Hồng and Pleiku wards. Inspectors discovered about 970 kg of frozen pork and chicken thighs of unknown origin, many of which had changed colour and emitted a strong foul odor, indicating a food‑safety risk.

At the Diên Hồng location owned by N.T.T.V, 560 kg of pork and chicken were found; at the Pleiku site owned by T.T.L, an additional 410 kg were seized. The owners could not produce invoices, certificates of origin, or proper labeling. The authorities recorded administrative violation reports and ordered the complete destruction of the contaminated products.

The operation underscores ongoing enforcement of Vietnam’s food‑safety regulations to protect consumer health.
