Gia Lai students face shortage of 35,000 textbooks
Nearly 35,000 students in Gia Lai province are currently facing a shortage of textbooks. Statistics show that over 27,600 primary school students, 2,256 secondary students, and 5,099 high school students are missing textbooks or specific volumes.
To address the shortage during the first year of implementing a unified textbook set, the Department of Education and Training in Gia Lai has advised students to utilize school libraries, used books, or free electronic textbooks provided by the Vietnam Education Publishing House.
Trần Thanh Hải, Deputy Director of the Gia Lai Department of Education and Training, noted that the government has mandated that all students across 34 provinces and cities must have sufficient textbooks by September 2026. The shortage in Gia Lai is primarily affecting ethnic minority students.
