Gias Foods expands pasta recall for Walmart products

Gias Foods of New York is expanding a recall of its bettergoods brand Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine to include all lot codes. The product was distributed nationwide at Walmart stores.

The expansion follows routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which indicated the frozen pasta may be contaminated with Listeria monocytogenes. While the company previously recalled specific lots, it has now recalled all distributed units of the 22-ounce yellow plastic bags (UPC# 194346442706).

No illnesses have been reported so far. The FDA and Gias Foods are investigating the cause of the potential contamination. Listeria infections can be serious or life-threatening, particularly for pregnant women, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems.
