Walmart Bettergoods frozen pasta recall expanded

Overview

Gias Foods, Inc. has expanded its nationwide recall of Bettergoods Authentic Italian Lemon Alfredo Fettuccine sold at Walmart stores in the United States. Initially, the recall targeted two specific lots—L6079C and L6080C—of the 22-ounce frozen meals in yellow plastic packaging (UPC 194346442706).

Following routine sampling by the Washington State Department of Agriculture and the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services, which indicated potential contamination with Listeria monocytogenes, the company has now expanded the recall to include all lot codes of the product.

The FDA and Gias Foods are currently investigating the cause of the potential contamination. While no illnesses have been reported, health officials warn that Listeria infections can be serious or life-threatening, particularly for pregnant women, young children, the elderly, and those with weakened immune systems. Consumers are advised to discard the product or return it to Walmart for a full refund.
