Gießen and Groningen bus services resume regular schedules with limited adjustments after summer break

In Gießen, Germany, the city transport operator MIT. BUS will return to its regular timetable after the summer holidays, but a few school‑specific extra trips are being cancelled. Yvonne Wick, managing director of MIT. BUS, said the main lines will run on time for the start of school, while apologising for the inconvenience caused by the missing reinforcement trips.

In the Netherlands, buses around Groningen will also revert to their normal schedules from 15 August, with increased weekday services during peak hours. Temporary route changes are in place on several Q‑link and Qliner lines because of major maintenance work on the N34 road between De Punt and Gieten, affecting stops and frequencies until mid‑September.

Both regions are coordinating alternative timetables to minimise disruption for commuters and students as the summer break ends.
