GIIAS 2026 in Indonesia unveils new EV models, incentives and pricing
The Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show (GIIAS) 2026 ran from 30 July to 9 August at ICE BSD City, Tangerang, featuring more than 65 automotive brands. Organisers highlighted a surge of affordable electric vehicles priced under Rp200 million, including the Wuling Aira EV (from Rp155 million), VinFast VF3 (from Rp156 million with a battery‑subscription option) and BYD Atto 1 (from Rp199 million).
OLXmobbi returned as the official trade‑in partner, offering cash‑back incentives totalling up to Rp35 million for consumers upgrading their cars. Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa announced forthcoming EV incentives that will cover roughly 500 000 electric motorcycles and cars, providing up to 100 % PPnBM exemption and a 40 % PPN‑DTP subsidy for eligible models.
At the show, Jetour Indonesia introduced a personalised “Adventure Passport” interactive booth, while Audi Indonesia previewed its upcoming premium SUV (the Q9) slated for launch at the event. The minister also reported a 32.9 % year‑on‑year rise in car sales and a 1.1 % increase in motorcycle sales in June 2026, underscoring strong domestic demand.
