One Nation leader Pauline Hanson travelled to Europe in July 2024, flying from London to Sicily and back. Parliamentary disclosures show mining magnate Gina Rinehart paid for those flights and provided an invitation to a Dolce & Gabbana fashion show in Taormina.

Hanson says she covered accommodation, meals and daily expenses herself and stresses that no taxpayer money was used. She had also received a private plane as a gift from Rinehart in April.

Separately, Hanson lost a Federal Court appeal that found she made a racist remark toward Greens deputy leader Mehreen Faruqi. Justice Angus Stewart described the comment as “seriously offensive” and a “strong form of racism”. Hanson has 28 days to lodge a final appeal with the High Court.
