AI transforms Greek real estate and prompts UN calls for regulation
Artificial Intelligence is driving significant changes in the Greek real estate market. According to Spitogatos, the technology is transforming the industry from property searches to contract management. Future developments include a shift from traditional filters to consultative, conversational searches that understand user lifestyles. AI is also being used to automate listing creation through enriched descriptions, photo enhancement, and virtual space staging.
On an international level, Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis addressed the United Nations General Assembly in New York, emphasizing the need for a robust global regulatory framework for AI. Participating in a high-level event co-hosted by Greece and India, Gerapetritis highlighted AI's role in international peace and security, particularly regarding maritime safety. He stressed that while AI can enhance human judgment and maritime situational awareness, it must remain human-centric and governed by international law to manage risks associated with dual-use technologies.
