Investigations have revealed significant discrepancies in the doctors' testimonies. While they claimed Mazonakis arrived at the clinic around 16:00, security footage shows him entering at approximately 13:30, three hours before emergency services were called. Furthermore, police found two plasmaferesis machines at the site, despite the facility being licensed only as a simple pathological office, a type of clinic not permitted to perform such procedures.

The autopsy, conducted on September 11, confirmed that Mazonakis had no pre-existing heart disease. While the immediate cause of death remains undetermined pending toxicological and histological results, forensic experts noted that the cardiac arrest was not inherently irreversible and could have potentially been reversed with immediate CPR and defibrillation.
