Giovanni Malagò secures Serie A support for FIGC presidency

Giovanni Malagò, the current extraordinary commissioner of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC), has reached the required quorum to run for the presidency in the upcoming election on December 14. He has secured formal support from 11 out of 20 Serie A clubs, including Bologna, Fiorentina, Frosinone, Genoa, Lecce, Monza, Napoli, Parma, Roma, Torino, and Udinese.

Malagò faces competition from Adriano Galliani, who has reportedly secured support from Atalanta, Cagliari, Como, Inter, and Milan, as well as the players' and coaches' associations. While Malagò holds the majority of Serie A club signatures, several clubs including Juventus, Lazio, Sassuolo, and Venezia remain undecided. The final outcome may also depend on the decision of the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti (LND).
