Gitanas Nausėda visits Kyiv for Ukraine independence celebrations

Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda traveled to Kyiv to participate in celebrations for Ukraine’s 35th anniversary of independence. During the visit, Nausėda was awarded the Ukrainian Order of Freedom by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, an honor he stated belongs to all Lithuanian people.

In related diplomatic developments, President Zelenskyy received a congratulatory letter from Polish President Andrzej Duda. While the letter expressed wishes for victory against Russia, it also noted the existence of sharp questions and tensions that both nations seek to reduce gradually.
