Giuseppe Cassetti dies in motorcycle accident in Barberino di Mugello

Giuseppe Cassetti, a 24-year-old resident of Olgiate Olona, died following a motorcycle accident on the SS65 della Futa in the Barberino di Mugello area. The incident occurred on Saturday, September 12, shortly after 2:00 PM near Le Maschere.

Cassetti was traveling with a group of motorcyclists toward the Mugello circuit when he lost control of his KTM motorcycle during a double curve. The vehicle struck the roadside guardrail, causing Cassetti to be thrown from the seat and fall into a steep embankment below. Emergency responders, including ambulance crews, the Pegaso helicopter rescue service, firefighters, Carabinieri, local police, and Anas personnel, arrived at the scene. Despite resuscitation attempts, medical staff could not revive him due to the severity of his injuries.

Reports indicate that Cassetti’s father was part of the motorcycle group present during the accident. Authorities are conducting investigations to reconstruct the exact dynamics of the crash and determine responsibility. Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, at 10:15 AM in the Church of Santi Stefano e Lorenzo.
