Fatal motorcycle accidents in Italy
Overview
Two separate fatal motorcycle accidents involving young men were reported in Italy during September and October 2026.
On September 12, 24-year-old Giuseppe Cassetti died near Barberino di Mugello after losing control of his motorcycle on the SS65 della Futa. The accident occurred while he was traveling with a group toward the Mugello circuit; he struck a guardrail and fell into an embankment. Despite resuscitation attempts by emergency responders, he could not be revived.
In a subsequent incident occurring between October 2 and October 3, 22-year-old Fabio Capecchi died in Serravalle Pistoiese. Capecchi lost control of his motorcycle on Via Rinascita. Witnesses reported that he briefly regained his footing and removed his helmet before losing consciousness. He was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at San Jacopo Hospital in Pistoia following cardiac arrest.
