Giuseppe Di Capua Calls Transparency Register Report ‘Fake’ Amid Castellammare di Stabia Dissolution
Former deputy mayor Giuseppe Di Capua held a press conference, organized by former Prime Minister Elefante, to denounce a ministerial report circulating about the dissolution of the municipality of Castellammare di Stabia. He said the document is "almost certainly fabricated" and questioned its role in the decision to dissolve the town, which authorities attribute to Camorra infiltration.
Di Capua rejected allegations that he claimed to have served as an assessor in the 2000s and as head of Social Services, stating he was never heard by the commissioners during the Access Commission. He suggested the accusations stemmed from his résumé published in the municipal Transparency Register, which he described as a “useless” and overly brief record. The Transparency Register is intended to give citizens access to municipal acts, data and information, ensuring administrative transparency.
The controversy adds political pressure to the ongoing debate over the legitimacy of the dissolution measures and the effectiveness of local transparency mechanisms.
