Gjakova Court orders detention in attempted murder case

The Gjakova Basic Court has approved a one-month pre-trial detention for three suspects following a violent altercation on August 10 in Gjakova. The incident, which occurred on ‘Dëshmorët e Hereçit’ street, involved a dispute that escalated into a physical conflict and a shooting.

One suspect, identified by the initials H. D., is accused of attempted murder and illegal possession of a firearm. Prosecutors allege that H. D. used a pistol to fire multiple shots at a victim, identified as D. G., striking him in the upper part of the left leg. The victim was subsequently treated at the ‘Isa Grezda’ Regional Hospital.

Two other suspects, A. D. and E. G., face charges of participation in a fight. A minor was also involved in the incident and is subject to separate legal procedures. The court ordered the detention of the three primary suspects for one month, effective from their arrest on August 10. The parties involved maintain the right to appeal the decision to the Court of Appeals of Kosovo.
